879243e370 xwm: Fix double-close
When an FD is passed to xcb_connect_to_fd(), xcb takes ownership of that
FD and is responsible for closing it, which it does when
xcb_disconnect() is called. But the xwayland handler code also keeps a
copy of the FD and closes it via safe_close() in
server_finish_process().

This double-close can cause all sorts of problems if another part of
wlroots allocates another FD between the two closes - the latter close
will close the wrong FD and things go horribly wrong (in my case leading
to use-after-free and segfaults).

Fix this by setting wm_fd[0]=-1 after calling xwm_create(), and ensuring
that xwm_create() closes the FD if startup errors occur.

546c5d000d xwayland: fix xdg->xwayland drag-and-drop
As struct wlr_drag is destroyed on drop and in the process resets
the focus, a xwayland dnd listener would also reset xwm->drag_focus.

This prevents the xcb replies from being processed and also prevents
the transfer if a compositor would not additionally request new focus
in its wlr_drag destroy handler (which is something usually only done
when in a focus-follows-mouse setting).

This patch creates a new xwm->drop_focus pointer which is a copy of
xwm->drag_focus at drop time. The xcb reply handler and transfer
logic now use the new xwm->drop_focus for their authorization checks.

6ada67da9b xwayland/xwm: implement somewhat asynchronous request flushing
Instead of calling xcb_flush() directly, wait until the FD is

Ideally we'd have a non-blocking variant instead of xcb_flush(),

6214144735 xwayland: add wlr_xwayland_surface_has_window_type()
The infrastructure to read _NET_WM_WINDOW_TYPE already exists in wlroots
(it's used for example in wlr_xwayland_or_surface_wants_focus()). But
the window type isn't easily accessible to the compositor because the
atoms to compare against are private to xwm.c.

labwc has recently gone to a fair amount of effort (including opening a
whole new xcb connection) just to get the needed window type atoms:
a04b394e59

It seems much cleaner to add the remaining few (3) atoms to wlroots and
implement a shared function which can be used by any wlroots compositor.

20997df416 xwm: add request_close signal
This is especially useful if the compositor wants to support X11

have to hook into the user_event_handler callback but that would
not change the _NET_SUPPORTED root window property.

5083efe18b xwayland: add wlr_xwayland_surface_offer_focus()
In labwc, we have had trouble with XWayland windows using the Globally
Active input model (see wlr_xwayland_icccm_input_model()). Under
traditional X11, these windows do not expect to be given focus directly
by the window manager; rather, the WM sends them a WM_TAKE_FOCUS message
prompting the client to take focus voluntarily.

Currently, these clients are difficult to support with wlroots, because
wlr_xwayland_surface_activate() assumes the client window will always
accept the keyboard focus after being sent WM_TAKE_FOCUS. Some Globally
Active client windows (e.g. panels/toolbars) don't want to be focused.
It's useless at best to focus them, and might even make them misbehave.
Others do need keyboard focus to be functional -- and there doesn't seem
to be any reliable way to know this in advance.

Adding wlr_xwayland_surface_offer_focus() allows the compositor to send
WM_TAKE_FOCUS to a client window supporting it and then see whether the
client accepts or ignores the offer. If it accepts, the surface will emit
the focus_in signal notifying the compositor that it has received focus.

This is entirely opt-in. A compositor that doesn't want to use the new
function can continue to call wlr_xwayland_surface_activate() directly
just as before.

068280201a xwayland: Read and publish _NET_WM_STRUT_PARTIAL property
This is needed for compositors that want to reserve space for
XWayland panels. Such a feature can be useful in a "transitional"
setup, where only the X11 window manager and compositor is replaced
but other components of an X11 desktop environment are still used.

This change simply reads the X11 property; the compositor is free
to ignore it. Thus, compositors that don't want to support such a
"transitional" feature are not impacted.

e479dc1ef0 xwayland: Allow to retrieve startup-id via _NET_STARTUP_INFO
A launchee notifies with a "remove"¹ message when done starting up.
Catch these and forward to the compositor. This allows the compositor to
end the startup sequence that might have been started by another
protocol like xdg-activation.

We don't handle other messages since we expect the launcher to use a
wayland protocol like xdg-activation.

While `_NET_STARTUP_ID` helps to associate toplevels with startup-ids
this signals the end of the startup sequence.

ae2f3ecb68 xwm: implement _NET_CLIENT_LIST_STACKING
This property is present on all modern X11 instances. The nonpresence of
it requires applications to fall back to XQueryTree-based logic to
determine stacking logic (e.g., to determine what surface should get
Xdnd events).

These code paths are effectively untested nowadays, so this makes it
more likely for wlroots to "break" applications. For instance, the
XQueryTree fallback path has been broken in Chromium for the last 10
years.

It's easy enough to maintain this property, so let's just do it.

eec2e1d3b1 xwayland: check executable exists on init
Instead of walking PATH like a previous proposal [1], this one
checks that the Xwayland path specified in the pkg-config file
exists.

I think this is a reasonable compromise:

- Users that don't have Xwayland installed system-wide won't get
  a bogus DISPLAY env variable set up.
- Users that have WLR_XWAYLAND set won't be affected by this check.
- Users that have Xwayland installed system-wide and a different
  Xwayland in their PATH still get their custom Xwayland.
- Users that don't have Xwayland installed system-wide but have it
  somewhere else in PATH are left out. But this is pretty niche,
  and they can just set WLR_XWAYLAND.

2fa257313a xwayland/selection: use one target window per selection
Previously, the clipboard and primary selections shared the same window.
This was racey, and could have led to pasting failures.

On xfixes selection owner change notification, the logic for requesting
the supported mimetypes of the new owner's selection looks like:

  xcb_convert_selection(
    xwm->xcb_conn,
    selection->window,
    selection->atom,
    xwm->atoms[TARGETS],
    xwm->atoms[WL_SELECTION],
    selection->timestamp
  );

This means ask the selection owner to write its TARGETS for the
`selection->atom` selection (one of PRIMARY, CLIPBOARD, DND_SELECTION)
to `selection->window`'s WL_SELECTION atom.

However, `selection->window` is shared for both PRIMARY and CLIPBOARD
selections, and WL_SELECTION is used as the target atom in both cases.
So, there's a race when both selections change at the same time.

The CLIPBOARD selection might support mimetypes {A, B, C}, and the
PRIMARY only {A, B}. If the ConvertSelection requests/responses "cross
on the wire", so to speak, wlroots can end up believing that the PRIMARY
selection also supports C.

A Wayland client may then ask for the PRIMARY selection in C format,
which will fail with "convert selection failed".

This commit fixes this by using a separate window for PRIMARY and
CLIPBOARD target requests, so that WL_SELECTION can be used as the
target atom in both cases.

7964a313e8 xwayland/selection: use one X11 window per incoming transfer
This commit introduces logic for using a new X11 window for each
incoming transfer, rather than having a global window for each selection
source.

This eliminates a whole class of bugs involving multiple concurrent
incoming transfers.

For now, we retain the outgoing transfer queue, and the selection
source-specific windows to support it. Source-specific windows are no
longer used in the incoming path, and will be removed in a future PR.
