name array should allocate space for the null terminator. Also, need to
check if client->name has enough space for strcpy.

config.h may contain defines like _FILE_OFFSET_BITS which influence
the system wide include files (off_t types, open -> open64 function
usage etc.).

They are equivalent, but __func__ is in C99. __FUNCTION__ exists only
for backwards compatibility with old gcc versions.

According POSIX[1] and linux manpage[2] the include is poll.h, not
sys/poll.h.
This fixes the he following compiler warning when build with musl libc:

PCM and control shm plugins and aserver have some codes to resolve the
host address and check whether it's a local host although the given
address is never used. In addition, the code contains gethostbyname()
that is known to be obsoleted. So, let's get rid of all these unused
codes.
The host configuration item is still accepted (but just ignored) for
keeping the compatibility.

By doing this we move them from the .data section to .rodata setion,
or from .data.rel to .data.rel.ro.
The .rodata section is mapped directly from the on-disk file, which is
always a save, while .data.rel.ro is mapped directly when using
prelink, which is a save in a lot of cases.

New snd_pcm_hw_params_* functions are available only explicitly when
ALSA_PCM_NEW_HW_PARAMS_API is defined.
Updated documentation and test code to new API.
- changed snd_config_get_id function to follow semantic of other get functions

- added runtime pointer type (not persistent)
